Christmas is the festivity wich celebrate that Jesus was born. To celebrate this period, we use to decore our houses with many symbols, and we also spent time with our family. Probably, the most famous Christmas sybol is St. Nicolas, commonly known as Santa.

Families usually make some sweets, like gingerbread men, candy canes or eggnog. It's common to decore the pinetree in family, and if you have money you can watch a theatre play, like the 'Nutcraker ballet'. If you are chrsitian, you can go to celebrate Christmas with a candel on 24th december. In USA, its common that 'Santa Claus' gives presents to good childrens, going sown by the chimney and leving them under the pinetree.

Hurricanes bring with them floods, that produce an 70/80% of all the damages. Huracan Katrina, which was formed in the Bahamas in 2005, go in to USA from Florida, taking direction to New Orleans, where the protection systems failed. This city was destroyed in an 80% of its totallity. All the damage in USA was traduced by around 108k million of dollars.
San Andres fault
South western part of USA is a zone of inestability refering to tectonics. California is the State that suffers the biggest number of Earthquakes in USA. San Andres Fault is a tipical example of the damages that can be made by the tectonic movements. San Francisco is called 'The slope city' because of the depresions caused by te earthcakes. There are also warthcuakes in the other part of USA. In Virginia, there was a catastrophic earthquake in 2011, with a magnitude of 5.1 in Richter scale, producing a national panic, wich make evacuating some importants buildings like the pentagon
Thanksgiving day is the tipical northamerican festivity. This festivity gather families in all the country and they spent the weekend together. In Canada it's celerated on 2nd Monday of October, but we are going to talk about the American version, which is clebrated on 4th Thursday of November.

This festivity has its origin in 1620, when a gruop of English people arrived in america. They came in a ship named MayFlower, forming a crew of about 102 people. The festivity began to celebrate in 1621, as many Europeans festival just before and after the harvest time. Nowadays, the festivity also celebrates that the Europeans taught natives to plant, breed animals and prepare their food, but actually, that story wasn't the real one.The true story was that there were wars between natives and Europeans, and almost an 80-90% of the native population died because of the illnesses. This is the real past of this tipical day in USA and more and more around the world.
The days close to Thanksgiving day are the busiest days referring to traffic, because people travel to be with their families. The turkey is the main course in Thanksgiving day menu, and it is usually served up with a Cranberry sauce.
